Volunteer & Internship Opportunities

New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center welcomes volunteers and interns who want to make a difference for children and families in Blount County.

Opportunities are available on an ongoing, as-needed basis. Whether you can lend a few hours to support our daily work or are seeking a department-focused internship experience, your time and talents help strengthen our mission.

Volunteer With New Hope

Volunteers provide vital support behind the scenes and during special projects throughout the year. Current needs may include:

  • Answering phones, welcoming guests, opening doors, and assisting with general office responsibilities
  • Helping provide coverage and advocacy support when staff members are away, including during maternity leave and during extended therapy hours 
  • Assisting with fundraising events and other special events as needed
  • Helping with outdoor projects when weather permits
  • Participating in our annual exterior building clean-up and other seasonal projects

Volunteer needs vary throughout the year, so we encourage you to reach out even if a specific opportunity is not currently listed.

For the safety of the children and families we serve, volunteers in office-based roles are required to complete a background check and fingerprinting.

Intern With New Hope

Internships offer students the opportunity to gain experience in a focused area of New Hope’s work. Internship openings are available as department needs and supervision capacity allow.

Potential internship opportunities include:

  • Forensic Services
  • Therapy
  • Marketing & Fundraising
  • Prevention & Awareness

Internships are department-specific, and responsibilities are designed around the needs of that department and the intern’s educational goals.
